iPhone 3GS gets the jailbreak treatment, purplera1n ensues
iPhone 3GS gets the jailbreak treatment, purplera1n ensues: “![]()
For those of you who have been waiting for a jailbreak solution for your shiny new iPhone 3GS, the wait is over. iPhone hacker extraordinaire George Hotz was hard at work this weekend putting together release candidates for the newest incarnation of the iPhone. The project,’coined purplera1n, started out as a tool only for certain variants of Windows, but has since blossomed into candidates for most modern variants of Windows (including Windows 7) and a Mac solution.
As you probably know, jailbreaking allows a user to install third-party applications from outside the App Store and access the Unix underpinnings of the iPhone OS—things that are otherwise locked away from end-users.’

My personal journey with Internet Marketing
As of today, it has been 2 weeks since I’ve started my journey with internet marketing. I can tell you that there are loads of information out there and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. Basically there are several ways to make money online. You could be an affiliate, selling other people’s products and receive commissions from that sale. You could join an MLM Matrix, getting percentage from the downlines you pull. Ultimately, you could create your own products, your own MLM matrix, and if you manage to come up with something spectacular, you’re well on your way to riches! However, the most important aspect of the whole discipline of Internet Marketing is driving massive traffic to the respective websites. That is to me the most challenging of all.
Let me list down the things that I have done thus far
- Sign up for a traffic exchange site at TrafficSwarm.com. This is a traffic exchange site where every member has the ability to advertise their website/URL and generate leads that could potentially become your customer/downline. TrafficSwarm is free to register, however if you have spare money to lose, it is advisable to upgrade to the PRO account for 30USD/month as this will increase the number of times your URL/website is displayed, thus creating more leads for you.
- Sign up with PluginProfits.com. This is by far the fastest and easiest way for a newbie to setup an online presence and generate traffic. When you sign up, you are automatically asked to sign up for 5 residual income accounts that could prove to be vital for your expansion in the future. Trust me the more you research about internet marketing the more you will come in contact with these 5 companies which are Global Domains International, SF International, Internet Warriors, Lawn Chair Millionaire, and Empowerism. If you’re unsure as to where you should invest, I highly recommend you to invest with PluginProfits.com. Just keep in mind that like any other businesses, there is a learning curve and you must take ACTION in order to see the results.
- Write blogs and create fresh contents to your website to generate more free traffic.
I truly believe that more and more individuals will be joining the home-business industry in the years to come. The internet has changed people’s lives to the extent that normal people like me and you have the potential to become rich.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite those living in Malaysia who are involved in internet marketing to meet up with me and perhaps setup a team to help each other and share ideas. If you have any inquiries about internet marketing, please leave a comment and I will try my best to answer them.
P.S: I know that there are a lot of Malaysian internet marketers out there. I would really appreciate any helpful tips and/or suggestions from all of you so I could increase my knowledge.

How To Make Money From Passions
Maverick Money Makers © 1997 – 2009
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
To make money online many people jump right in before they are properly prepared. You know that to be a rocket scientist, a doctor, a brick layer, a construction worker, an office worker, a teacher there are prerequisites, things you must learn, before you can be successful, you don’t just jump right in unprepared.
The same applies to the Internet marketing industry even though there are unsavory people out there who’d have you believe it’s a “Walk in the Park” and requires no more than the belief that you can just do it.
And I’ll have to admit, it is a walk in the park compared to what you have to put up with in the working world punching a clock being a subordinate to someone who does not have your interests in mind, but there are still rules you have to follow and pitfalls you must avoid to actually make Internet marketing work for you.
Most people will not make a dime online and yet there are others who will make more in one month than most people make in a whole year. Why is that?
My answer begins with the age-old chicken or egg question, “what comes first the chicken or the egg”? Personally I vote for, well never mind, each argument you or I make comes back to the same old conclusion – I have no clue and I don’t think many of us do either.
But one thing I do have a clue about and know for sure is that to make money online you must first have Passion for the company products and/or service of any Internet business from which you expect to make money.
Passion in this sense simply means that you’ve researched and like the company and products or services. It is then that you translate that like (or Passion) into the education, excitement and work that usually accompany Passion.
I will have to say that many online entrepreneurs are so good at what they do that they ignore passion because they can sell anything. But I’m concerned about those of you who are not so knowledgeable at working an online business successfully.
Now, I’m not trying to make anyone believe that Passion is the only thing necessary. Because to be successful you must also have a good website, good marketing, widespread advertising, company support, effective keywords, and etc. Those things are often learned from the company you join – but sidestep Passion and you reduce your chances for success dramatically.
It therefore follows that, if you have no Passion for the company and the products and services provided by that company, again, you won’t attempt to do the work you are being taught.
Internet marketing work is typically not all that difficult or time consuming but it does take motivation caused by Passion to get you off and running with a sustained effort so that you won’t stumble.
You have a great resource in the Internet search engines to search about the Internet Marketing industry for business opportunities, USE IT!
Your research should uncover a company that you like and have confidence in. It should be solid, founded on great principles, and easy to understand with great products and services that are sell-able for which you can have Passion. If you don’t find it move on,
You can find the right opportunity containing the attributes identified above.
Comments like, well, that one sounds good and the compensation plan is excellent so I guess I’ll start that business – does not sound like a decision based on anything near Passion. And remember when you hear that an Internet “guru” does that, don’t be tempted, because as I said earlier they are experienced and can sell just about anything, without being Passionate about the company products and services.
Note: By the way it’s your goal to get to the point where you can sell about anything online. That end skill and goal is a worthy one indeed.
Remember, there are other steps you must make before you step into Internet Marketing but if you don’t first find the right company products and services to be passionate about, all of those other steps may just cause you a lot of frustration instead of bringing you great success.
Not being Passionate about a company and products and services that has market proof that it will sell is a pitfall you simply must avoid.

Make Meaning and Change the World
I have just finished reading a book entitled The Art of the Start: The Time-Tested, Battle-Hardened Guide for Anyone Starting Anythingby Guy Kawasaki. The book explains about business start-ups and how businesses (mainly tech-based) could seek venture capitalist for funding. It is a must-read for entrepreneurs interested in setting up a technological based company and require knowledge pertaining to the necessary funds. With reviews aside, what I would really like to discuss about is Kawasaki’s first subject in his 5 list of the most important things an entrepreneur must accomplish, which is to Make Meaning.
I absolutely agree with this. It’s not all about the money, the popularity nor the influence that builds empires. Don’t get me wrong, as a business, your main goal is definitely to maximize profits. However, as I have come to believe, organizations that operate solely for making profits and increase the wealth of their greedy stakeholders will never last long.
If history is anything to learn from, it has taught us that great organizations were lead by great entrepreneurs who actually made meaning to the world.
To name a few we have
- Benjamin Franklin
- Henry Ford
- Charles F. Haanel
- Andrew Carnegie.
We also have present day entrepreneurs such as
Different backgrounds, different business models, different era.
Same purpose: To make meaning
Some might say the individuals I just mentioned are different. They’re ’special’. I beg to differ. Most of the greatest entrepreneurs of all time were normal people just like you and me. If you were to read the biographies of any one of them, you would most probably agree with me. The distinguishing factor is the fact that these individuals held firmly to their beliefs and nothing could deviate them from their meaning.
You don’t have to work up your brain and figure out how to make meaning to change the world just yet. Start simple. Make meaning for yourself first. Then perhaps your business. The rest will come when it’s time.
On a personal note, I recommend every aspiring Malaysian entrepreneur to live by this creed and God-willing, collectively we can make meaning for our beloved country Malaysia and ultimately the world.
Apple
iPhone Programming
While surfing the internet today I came across a few websites that had information about the iPhone Developer Community in Malaysia. We all know the hype about the iPhone, so it’s interesting to know that there are Malaysian developers contributing their applications through the AppStore. Have you heard of the 9-year old who sold a million copies of his app which was actually created for his siblings? Talk about discovering a gold mine!
Well after doing some extensive reading about iPhone developer programme, I’ve come to the conclusion that Apple has created a new niche market that benefits individual IT programmers as well as businesses around the world. One of the Malaysian developers that I came to know of is matblogger. This enthusiastic tech blogger has been in the iPhone development scene for more than a year and he already has 20+ apps available in iTunes up till now. His blog Malaysian Tech Blogger was even featured in the Malay Mail.
Now that Maxis has officially brought in the iPhone for the Malaysian market, I think it’s only a matter of time before the number of local iPhone developers increases from a select few to a well-reputable community. Before I finish up, it would be really interesting to know what you think would make a great iPhone app for the local as well as the international market.
As for me, I would really love to see a native Maybank2U iPhone app so I could literally do all my banking needs wherever I go.
P.S: This is officially my first post for my first blog so I would really appreciate any comments or feedbacks from everyone.
Terima kasih,
